Ciwandan (IDCIW)

Banten is an alternate name for Ciwandan.

Ciwandan is situated on the W coast of Java in the Province of Banten, 0.5nm SW of Cigading Ore Jetty.

LOA 229.07m, beam 38m, draught 12.0m, 87,340DWT.

Approx 8,000,000t of cargo are handled annually.

Vessels waiting to berth should anchor approx 1nm NNE of the liquid bulk 'T' Jetty, in depths of approx 20m. The tidal stream sets NE-SW at rates of 3-4kts; a long scope of cable is recommended. Anchorage position 6°00'00"S, 105°57'00"E.

The port can be approached passing N or S of Pulau Ular (06°00.5'S 105°55.5'E) then to the anchorage, or direct to the pilot boat. If passing S of the island vessels should pass N of the buoy (isolated danger) moored 0.2nm NW of Asahimas Chemical Jetty. Min depth in the channel 15.0m, min UKC 2.0m, max arrival or sailing draught 13.0m.

Pilotage is not compulsory but recommended for vessels which do not use the port regularly. Pilots and assistance in berthing should be requested 24 hours in advance of arrival and 6 hours before departure from the Harbour Master at Merak through the agent. Tanjung Cikoneng Light (6°04.38'S 105°52.8'E). Pulau Panjurit Light (5°53.0S 105°47.1'E). There is a conspicuous chimney (6°02.8'S 105°55.5'E), painted with red and white bands.

There are 12 tugs available. (4 x 800hp, 4 x 1200hp, 4 x 1600hp)

Should be sent to local agents 72, 48 and 24 hours before arrival, together with draught and details of any special requirements. Any change to ETA should be informed as soon as possible. Pilots arranged through Merak and require 24 hours notice. Vessels or their agents should advise the pilot station of any change in ETA as soon as possible.
