Vysotsk (RUVYS)

The port has facilities mainly for bulk cargoes such as coal, and iron ore pellets. The Vysotsk Lukoil ll Terminal is situated 3km to the S, outside the narrow entrance. The port operates throughout the year with the assistance of two icebreakers during the winter period.

Vysotsk is located on Vysotsky Island in the Gulf of Finland, 49nm from Saint Petersburg and 5nm SW of Vyborg.

Vessels more than LOA 105m (not equipped with bow thruster) should have the assistance of tugs. Max draught of 11.9m on berthing.

Compulsory for all vessels and available throughout 24 hours. The Pilot Service Controller should receive request for pilotage at least 24 hours prior to arrival and confirmation 1 hours before approaching the Port VTS boundary or the Pilot boarding position. Any operations in the port of vessels intending to depart should request pilots at least 6 hours, with confirmation 2 hours in advance. ..... Vysotsk port water limits begin from the end of Pier No 4 in direction to the S of the South Breakwater of Vysotskie entrance gate, width 138m, along breakwaters line to the northern end of Northern entrance breakwater, then to 60°36.9'N 028°33.2'E, then to 60°37.28'N 028°33.26'E, then to 60°37.16'N 028° 33.40'E and return to the end of the Pier No 4 along the shore line of Pier Nos 1-4.

Daytime: Fairway No 6 is used for vessels of no more that LOA 150m and draught no more than 7.5m. Vessels with no more than LOA 150m and draught no more than 9.3m use Vremenny Obkhodnoy. Night: For vessels with no more than LOA 135m and draught 7.0m by Fairway No 6. Vessels with no more than LOA 150m and draught no more than 9.3m by VORDW. Vessels may enter or leave the port any time of day if there is a visibility not less than 2nm.

Direction and speed of flow variable. HW + 1.6m is possible during strong winds with -/+ 20cm in normal conditions. Constant watch should be made on the tide level during loading.

The water area of the Ports of Vyborg and Vysotsk, including the Luboil ll Oil Terminal Vessels with draught of more than 6.1m proceeding to the port of Vyborg, with draught exceeding 7.0m to port of Vysotsk shall be deemed to be constrained by their draught and shall exhibit signals in compliance with Rule 28 of the IRFPCAS.

Two tugs available, "Oleg Kuvaev" 1,600hp and "Iceberg" 1,200hp.

Ice in the Gulf of Vyborg begins to form normally about the middle of Nov. The Gulf usually becomes frozen over by the middle of Dec and the last ice finally disappears in Apr. The port is open for navigation all year, from Dec - Apr with icebreaker assistance.

"By-Laws of the Maritime Administration of the ports Vyborg and Vysotsk" supplied by the agent and should be adhered to during stay in the port.

The Master should inform the Sanitary-quarantine Service and agency company about actual sanitary-epidmiological condition of the vessel (ports of departures for the last 40 days, presence of rats, mosquitoes) not later than 48 hours prior to approaching the "Reception" Buoy. The Master should provide Ship Sanitation Control Certificate. Ship Sanitation Control and Exemption Certificate can be renewed.
