Salacgriva (LVSAL)

The port is located near the mouth of the River Salaca. The port mainly handles pulp, logs, sawn timber and fish. Fishing vessels are also handled.

Summer Zone for vessels over 100m in length and Winter Zone for vessels of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Salacgriva is located on the E shore of the Gulf of Riga, approx 43nm NNE of Riga.

LOA 115m, beam 20m, draught 5.6m.

From the vicinity of the Fairway Lightbuoys (safe water), moored 2nm WSW of the entrance, the alignment (072.25°) of these lights leads in a channel marked by lightbuoys into the harbour. Pilot Buoy "P", is positioned at 57°44.80'N 024°17.78'E. Fairway, length 1.8nm, width 70m.

There is a coastguard available in the port.

Front Light (black rectangle, white stripe, on metal framework tower, 10m in height, 57°45.4'N 024°21.2'E). Rear Light (similar structure, 18m in height, 207m from front light). Salacgriva Beacon (white square tower, 9.0m in height, 57°45.6'N 024°21.5'E) former light beacon is prominent, standing on the N side at the mouth of the Salaca River.

Entry and departure is only allowed if wind velocity does not exceed 27kts.

One tug is available, 1 x 290hp.
