Pesaro (ITPES)

Pesaro port is a small commercial harbour with a marina. Principal exports include grain and flour. Imports include timber, coal, scrap metal and phosphates. The port is accessed via a canal running S of the River Foglia.

The port of Pesaro is situated on the NE coast of Italy, in the Adriatic Sea.

Max length 100m, beam 16m, draught 3.9m.

Designated anchorages have been established centred as follows, (positioned from Monte San Bartolo Light): ..... The harbour is entered through a narrow channel between two moles, situated approx 0.2nm E of the mouth of Fiume Foglia and consists of an inlet, closed at its S end, with two basins on its W side. There is no access between the inlet and Fiume Foglia. Caution: Within a radius of about 0.2nm of the harbour entrance there are shoals over which the depth of water is changed by gales.

Compulsory for entry into port , not for roads anchorage.

Port limits extend to seaward for a distance of 1,000m from the light near the head of the E mole between the bearings of 090° and 210° through N.

Monte San Bartolo Light (43°55.0'N 012°53.0'E) (white round tower on two storey dwelling, 25m in height).

Mean spring range 0.4m; almost imperceptible at neaps, but influenced by meteorological conditions.

Prevailing winds: SW'ly and generally moderate in strength, except for the Bora which can blow at 60kts. Strongest winds during December and January. Fog, sometimes dense, occurs mainly from December to March, early morning mists are common.
