The port handles oil exports from a CBM.

Sangatta is on the E coast of Kalimantan facing the Macassar Strait. The CBM is located in position 00°21.6'N 117°34.4'E.

CBM: Max LOA 220m, max 36,500DWT.

CBM: Tankers waiting to use the CBM anchor approx 3nm SE of the terminal, this is the usual boarding position of the Mooring Master.

Berthing takes place in daylight only; unberthing is at any time.

Radio: It is recommended to use Jakarta Radio for passing messages at long range, callsign "PKX". Working hours are 0000-0400hrs UTC on 8542kHz and 0000-1200hrs UTC on 8752kHz. Inmarsat communication is possible. VHF: Ch 16 (calling and safety); Ch 09, 19 (working). Station (callsign "PKN4") works throughout 24 hours. CBM: Pilotage is by the Mooring Master who will berth ships during daylight hours and unberth throughout 24 hours.

Immigration: All crew members must have a valid travel document.

Should be advised to agent at 10, 3, 2 and 1 day prior to arrival. In addition to date and time of arrival the Master should also advise the estimated draught on arrival.

Free pratique is granted on arrival. Ship Sanitation Control Certificate (SSCC) and Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (SSCEC) can be renewed at the major ports.
