Kumai (IDKUM)

Kumai is a small port in Central Kalimantan province in Indonesia. It lies on the Kumai river. The port handles general cargo, passengers and container facilities operates by PT Pelindo III (Persero).

Kumai is located in Kumai Bay, 13nm from the river entrance.

Draught 6.0m.

Good anchorage may be obtained off the flagstaff and the mosque in a depth of 11.0m where the river is 650m in width.

Kumai is bounded by the parallels of the roadstead boundary marks situated on the right bank of the river 0.5nm below and 0.6nm above the flagstaff of the District Administrative Office.

Radio: It is recommended to use Jakarta Radio for passing messages at long range, callsign "PKX". Working hours are 0000-0400hrs UTC on 8542kHz and 0000-1200hrs UTC on 8752kHz. Inmarsat communication is possible.

Immigration: All crew members must have a valid travel document. Crews from communist countries are not allowed to disembark whilst in port.

Should be advised to agent at 10, 3, 2 and 1 day prior to arrival. In addition to date and time of arrival the Master should also advise the estimated draught on arrival.

Free pratique is granted on arrival. Ship Sanitation Control Certificate (SSCC) and Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (SSCEC) can be renewed at the major ports.
