Rab (HRRAB)

Ferries connect Rab with the mainland port of Jablanac and with the neighbouring island of Krk.

Summer.

Rab is located on the SW coast of an island of the same name, off the N coast of Croatia, approx 110km from Rijeka.

Max LOA 200m, draught 5.0m.

Anchoring for deep draught vessels is available S of a line extending 235° from Plicina Frkanj Light Beacon.

Pilotage is compulsory for vessels over 500GT. Pilots are available from Rijeka throughout 24 hours and board at a position approx 1.0nm W of Rt Donji.

The inner harbour is sheltered from all but SE winds. The Scirocco wind raises an unpleasant swell and the Bora and SW winds blow hard in the outer harbour.
