Stege (DKSTE)

The harbour is divided into an outer and inner harbour by Storebro, a bascule bridge, marked by lights.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Stege is situated at the entrance to Stege Nor at the head of Stege Bugt, a large bay, entered between Kosterland and Uvshale 5nm NE. The port is approx 40nm SSW of Copenhagen.

LOA 80m, draught 3.9m.

The principal approach to the port is from the W through Koster Rende, an alternative approach which is suitable for smaller vessels can be made from the NW through Nodre-Lob.

Brackish.

Pilotage is recommended and is available from Masnedo.

Submarine cables: There are submarine cables laid E from Lindholm, 55°00'N 012° 14'E to the W coast of Mon approx 1nm N of the harbour. Bridge signals: The following signals are shown on both sides of Storebro: ..... Signal Meaning Iso R 2s Bridge about to be opened F R Passage permitted

Nil. Storms from NE can raise the water level by up to 1.0m; storms from S and SW can lower it by the same amount. During settled weather the current changes regularly, but with winds from W verring N to NE, a strong ingoing current can be expected.

Lyngby Radio operates throughout 24 hours. Inmarsat communication is possible. VHF: Ch 16.

Customs allowances: One bottle of spirits and 200 cigarettes per person are allowed. If quantities in excess of the allowance are found the penalty is a fine. The size of the fine depends on the amounts in excess of allowances. Clearance is handled by the agent but Customs Officers may board at any time to check the validity of the documents handed to the agent. Immigration: There are no restrictions for crew. Passengers of nationalities which require a visa are only allowed transit in Denmark for 36 hours.

Pratique is not required for Danish ports. Agent may request a Maritime Declaration of Health from the Master. Ship Sanitation Control and Exemption Certificates can be renewed in large ports.

NOR should be tendered in accordance with Charter Party terms.
