Tasucu (TRTAS)

The port protected by two breakwaters, 1,388m and 278m in length, has 6 berths handling mainly general cargo vessels, passengers and Ro-Ro traffic. Ro-Ro ferries operate on daily service to Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus.

Also known as Seka Tasucu, the port is situated on Turkey's southern coast, approx 100km W of Mersin.

Max LOA 129.4m, beam 18.81m, 9,228DWT.

Close S of the harbour are two anchorages, the E being designated an explosives anchorage, sheltered from all winds except those between SE and SW. When these winds occur vessels should immediately proceed to sea. Anchorage area for vessels not carrying hazardous substances is within the sea area formed by the following coordinates: 36° 18.500'N 33° 52.500'E 36° 16.500'N 33° 52.500'E 36° 16.500'N 33° 50.500'E Anchorage area for vessels carrying hazardous substances is within the sea area formed by the following coordinates: 36° 18.500'N 33° 53.350'E 36° 16.500'N 33° 53.350'E 36° 16.500'N 33° 55.200'E

The port entrance has a width of 240m. Turning basin is 400m diameter with a depth of 10.0m.

Pilotage is available throughout 24 hours.

Port limits include all the waters between a line S of Sancak Burnu, E to a line S of Kizkalesi Ada, out to 12nm.

One tug is compulsory for vessels more than 2,000GT, two tugs compulsory for vessels more than 5,000GT.
