πŸ“‹ Port Overview

βœ“ ISPSβœ“ ECA
The Port of Balsta serves as a vital maritime facility, strategically positioned to support various industrial operations in the region. It comprises three private terminals, each catering to specific materials essential for construction and manufacturing, alongside a discontinued grain facility. Private Terminals: Cementa AB: This terminal is dedicated to the importation of cement, a critical component in the construction industry. It features a 6,000t silo, which enhances the efficiency of cement storage and distribution, ensuring a reliable supply for ongoing and future construction projects. Saint-Gobain Sweden AB Gyproc: The Gyproc terminal specialises in the importation of gypsum, which is essential for the production of plasterboard. This facility supports the local construction sector by providing high-quality gypsum, thereby facilitating the manufacturing of essential building materials. NCC Industry AB: Authorised to operate from 2018 to 2028, this terminal focuses on receiving and processing rock materials generated from the construction of the Stockholm Bypass. The NCC terminal plays a crucial role in managing construction waste and supplying necessary materials for infrastructure development. Discontinued Grain Facility: Situated in the northern part of the harbour at Kalmarsand, the disused grain facility has been inactive since 2010. Plans have been proposed to transform this site into housing.
