The port is currently closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. Bergkvara is a small commercial and fishing harbour with facilities for handling bulk and general cargoes. The harbour consists of an open roadstead partially sheltered and protected by islets and rocks. The commercial harbour lies on the shore with three berthing areas. A fishing and small boat harbour lies close N, formed and protected by a spit of land and breakwaters. The port's imports are mainly timber and fertilisers. Exports handled are sawn wood goods. The harbour is occasionally closed by ice in January and February.
