Husnes (NOHUS)

The port is currently open for commercial operations. Husnes is sheltered from the W by Bogeneset and open to the N. The main industries are shipbuilding, agriculture, break bulk and aluminium.

Husnes is located on the W coast of Norway in Husnesfjord, 80km S of Bergen.

Max LOA 199.92, Max BEAM 32.26, 60.000DWT to 70,000DWT.

Vessels can anchor off the quay in depths of 16.0-20.0m, bottom moraine. Anchorage can be taken off Husnes in Ondarheimsvag, in 12.8 to 16.5m, sand. This area is presented to N winds.

Husnesfjord is approached from the S through Bomlafjord and from the N through Langenuen.

Pilotage is compulsory. Pilotage can be obtained at Marstein, (Korsfjord); Kvitsfjord (Kopervik), Tel: +47 73 53 97. Norwegian state pilot can be ordered through one of the Norwegian Coastal Administrations; there are three pilot ordering centres, located in Lodingen, Kvitsoy and Horten. Radio: Any Norwegian Coastal Radio station can be used for passing messages at long range. All coastal radio stations are operated 24 hours a day throughout the year. Customs: Allowance for crew and officers is that stated on the Personal Effects Declaration. Goods on the declaration are not to be taken ashore. Penalties for non compliance are severe fines. Immigration: Board at first port of call (cruise ships only). They require a Crew List and a Passenger List and will make random passport inspections. All passports should be available for a quick clearance which normally takes 15-20 minutes.

Arrival Notification, in the prescribed format, to the Navy should be made 24 hours before entering Norwegian territorial waters (baseline), also Hazmat notification if dangerous/noxious cargo onboard. See country information. Additional ETA's should be sent 12 and 6 hours prior to arrival to the vessel's agent.

There is no need to apply for pratique. Ship Sanitation Control Certificates can be renewed.
