Pilotage is compulsory for berthing. Pilots are available from the quarantine anchorage of Iwakuni. Inland Sea pilots are available at Sekisaki (33°13'N 131°54'E or Wada-Misaki).

Tugs of 1,600-3,600hp capacity available.
