Miyazaki (JPKMI)

The port handles a variety of vessels including Ro-Ro ferry vessels to Osaka and Nagoya, vehicle carriers, cement carriers, LPG tankers, general cargo vessels, bulk carriers and products tankers.

Miyazaki is situated on the eastern coast of the Miyazaki Prefecture of Kyushu.

LOA 194m, beam 27.6m, draught 6.7m, 12,000DWT.

Approx 7,000,000t of cargo, 7,000 vessels and 180,000 passengers handle annually.

From a position approx 1.2nm NE of the harbour the track leads SW, WSW and S passing: NW of Miyazaki Ko S Breakwater Kasetsu Light (31°55.31'N 131°29.08'E), then SE and SSE of Miyazaki Ko Inner Breakwater Light (31°55.16'N 131°28.51'E), then NNW of No 1 Buoy (31°54.92'N 131°28.53'E) to the enter the buoyed entrance channel.

The port limits extend about 1.5nm seaward.

A road bridge over a boat channel between Oyodo Kawa and the S extremity of Shino Ko passes has a vertical clearance of 5.6m. Submarine cables are located 4nm S of the harbour entrance.
