Thorlakshofn (ISTHH)

A harbour for fishing vessels and a ferry service to Vestmannaeyjahofn.

Thorlakshofn is located on the W shore of Hafnarvik, on the S coast of Iceland.

Draught 6.6m, 6,800DWT.

May be obtained off Thorlakshofn in 11-15m, good holding ground.

From a position about 3nm ESE of Hafnarnes Light, the harbour entrance is approached on the alignment (297°) of the leading lights that stand about 0.25nm NNW of the root of N breakwater. These leading lights lead to a position 0.1nm NE of the harbour entrance.The entrance has a depth of 6.6m, but the water within the harbour is shoaler. Minimum charted depth between the entrance and the main berths is 3.4m.
