Dalvik (ISDAL)

The port is protected by breakwaters with an entrance of 45m wide. A small trading station handles general cargo and passenger.

North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone I, Winter Oct 16 to Apr 15, Summer Apr 16 to Oct 15.

Dalvik is located on the W shore of Eyjafjordur on the N coast of Iceland.

LOA 40m, beam 10m, draught 2.5m.

Good anchorage is available in the bay, except in strong NE winds, in depths of 22.0-26.0m, 1nm E of Upsir Church, close NW of the station. Caution: An abandoned submarine cable crosses the fjord to Hrisey from Dalvik.

A light is exhibited from the head of both breakwaters.
