Grenivik (ISGRE)

The port is frequently visited by Faeroese fishing vessels. The port is closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen.

North Atlantic Winter Seasonal Zone I, Winter Oct 16 to Apr 15, Summer Apr 16 to Oct 15.

Grenivik is located on the E shore of Eyjafjordur on the N coast of Iceland.

Temporary anchorage may be obtained in the bay, in depths of 18.0-27.0m, good holding ground, but fresh winds from between N and W raise a heavy swell at the anchorage. A submarine cable is laid SW from Grenivik village across Eyjafjordhur to a position on the shore close S of Hauganes.

A light is exhibited from the head of one of the jetties. Leading lights (yellow triangular topmark, posts) in line bearing 085°, stand 80m apart, 300m E of the light on the head of the jetty.
