Panaji (INPAN)

Panaji is anchorage port which can handle vessels up to LOA 280m. The principal exports are cotton, salt and seeds; the main imports are piece goods, kerosene, pig iron, coal, lime, iron ore, etc.

Arabian Sea Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Sep 1 to May 31, Summer Jun 1 to Aug 31.

Panaji (Panjim) is located on the W coast of India, in the province of Goa, approx midway between Mumbai and Managalore.

Anchorage: Max LOA 280m, beam 46m, draught 17.0m, 155,474DWT.

Approximately 210 vessels visit the port annually.

Anchorage is located at 15°28.57'N 073°46.91'E, in depths of between 6.0-18.0m.

BA 492, 1509. Indian 2020, 2022. Admiralty Pilot NP38.

The dock density varies according to season.

Aqwad Lighthouse, 15°29.5'N 073°46.3'E. Cabo Spire 15°27.5'N 073°47.2'E.

There is a sand bar located off Agwad Bay, in approx position 15°28.9'N 073° 48.0'E.

MHWS: +2.30m, MHWN: +2.06m, MLWN: +0.37m, MLWS: +0.00m.

"MT Pehlvan", 470t, 4t bollard pull, to be requested via the Port Captain, Tel: +91 832 225070. This tug is not equipped with fire fighting equipment.

VHF: VTS & Tugs: Ch 16 and 74. VTS listens office hours, tugs 24 hours.

Customs allowances: One bottle of liquor and one carton of cigarettes is allowed for each crew member per week. Immigration: Immigration officials will check passports/CDC (Seaman's Books) and issue shore permits.

ETA messages should be sent to port captain 48 and 24 hours prior to arrival. The message should include details of ship, last port of call and details of cargo.

The local port health officer grants pratique after boarding vessel.

To be tendered as per terms and conditions of Charter Party. Generally, NOR tendered by master on vessel's arrival advising that vessel is ready to load/discharge the nominated cargo.
