📋 Port Overview

Deendayal is a sheltered harbour on a fairway dredged on an ongoing basis; max permissible draughts are published in advance and vary with the monsoon (15 May to 14 Sep). The port handles food grains, fertilisers, timber, logs, hazardous cargo and oil products. General cargo, oils and containers are shipped, and there are berths for grain, ore and other bulk cargoes. Offshore cargo handling: Deendayal Port has approved a project that allows floating craft to be deployed by the stevedores at anchorage, thereby facilitating the handling of vessels of Capesize vessels through floating cranes and barges. Single Buoy Moorings have been installed at Vadinar (see separate entry). A Special Economic Zone is being set up to complement the fourth terminal which is being built.
