Malahayati is located in Krueng Bay.

Malahayati Main Wharf: 10,000DWT. Tanker MBM: LOA 150m, draught 8.0m, 16,000DWT.

Anchorage area: 05°37.2'N 095°31.0'E.

The port channel is approx 800m in length, 400m wide and has a depth of 20.0m LWS. The port basin has min depths of 3.0m LWS and max 20m LWS. The lowest depth in front of the wharf is approx 6.4m LWS and at the side of Ujung Batu depths are 3.4m to 5.9m.

Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels over 150GT, available daytime only. Pilot can be contacted on VHF Ch 16.

Tide: Semi diurnal. MHWS is 120cm and 50cm at MHWN. MLWS is 100cm under MSL. Current: The current moves NE to NW at a speed of 0.4kt and decreases from W to NE.

A tugboat with the capacity of 2 x 1,600hp is available at the port.

Temperature: Average 32°C with 80% humidity. Rainfall: Continous throughout the year and may fall for 2-3 days continous. Apr-Nov is the rainy season with the highest recorded rainfall occurring during Jul-Oct. Winds: During Nov-Apr, winds are in an E'ly direction and from May-Oct in an NW'ly direction. Highest wind velocity is recorded during Feb. Visibility: Generally good with a range of up to 10km, except during rain and fog when visibility can be below 4km.

Radio: It is recommended to use Jakarta Radio for passing messages at long range, callsign "PKX". Working hours are 0001-0400hrs UTC on 8542kHz and 0001-1200hrs UTC on 8752kHz. Inmarsat communication is possible. VHF: Port: Ch 16, 08, 12, 14, 20, 22, 26. Pilots: Ch 12.

Immigration: All crew members must have a valid travel document. Crews from communist countries are not allowed to disembark whilst in port.

Free pratique is granted on arrival. Ship Sanitation Control Certificate (SSCC) and Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (SSCEC) can be renewed at the major ports.
