Saint Laurent (GFSLM)

The port is closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. The port is mainly used by fishing vessels.

St Laurent du Maroni is situated on the E bank of Fleuve Maroni.

Max draught 4.5m.

Good anchorage can be obtained in Fleuve Maroni 0.5nm NW of Pointe Panato (05° 43.0'N 053°58.0'W) in depths of 7.0-8.0m.

The fairway within the entrance to Fleuve Maroni lies E of some drying banks, then E of Iles Arouba which occupy most of the river 8nm SSW of Pointe Francaise. At MHW, vessels with a draught of up to 4.5m can ascend 15nm to Saint Laurent du Maroni on the E bank.

Pilotage is compulsory and is available during daytime only. Vessels should send request for pilots 48 hours in advance to the Pilot Station at Degrad des Cannes stating draught. Pilot boards near "SL" Lightbuoy (05°52.8'N 053°53.6'W).
