Sakskoebing (DKSAX)

The harbour is approx 360m in length with a max width of approx 90m.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Sakskoebing is situated at the head of Sakskobing Fjord, on the N coast of Lolland, at the southern end of the Great Belt.

LOA 80m, beam 12.0m, draught 3.8m. Largest vessel handled: "Elka Theresa", discharging molasses.

Approx 20 vessels and 32,000t of cargo handled annually.

Anchorage is available SE of Lindholm, 8nm from the port. Anchorage is prohibited in the proximity of the dredged channel, except in an emergency.

The harbour is approached through Oreby Rende, a dredged channel leading from the outer end of Bandholm Rende, marked by leading marks, buoys (lateral) and pairs of channel marks at short intervals to the harbour.

Pilotage is compulsory for vessels over 100NT proceeding between Oreby, 54° 50'N 011°35'E and Sakskboeing. Pilots, which must be ordered in advance from Bandholm, board vessels either off Vesterby Havn, 55°56.2'N 011°22.4'E, or in a position approx 5nm W of Vejro Light, 55°02'N 011°22'E.

Daytime sailing only is permitted.

Prevailing winds: W'ly.

Lyngby Radio (the only coast radio station in Denmark) is recommended for passing messages. The station operates throughout 24 hours. Inmarsat communication is possible. VHF: Ch 16.

Customs allowances: One bottle of spirits and 200 cigarettes per person are allowed. If quantities in excess of the allowance are found the penalty is a fine. The size of the fine depends on the amounts in excess of allowances. Clearance is handled by the agent but Customs Officers may board at any time to check the validity of the documents handed to the agent. Immigration: There are no restrictions for crew. Passengers of nationalities which require a visa are only allowed transit in Denmark for 36 hours.

Vessels should notify Krisax of ETA 6 hours prior to arrival.

The max speed is restricted to 4kts for vessels of 30GT and above and 6kts for vessels of less than 30GT.

Pratique is not required for Danish ports. Agent may request a Maritime Declaration of Health from the Master. Ship Sanitation Control and Exemption Certificates can be renewed in large ports.

NOR should be tendered in accordance with Charter Party terms.
