Roenne (DKRNN)

The port operates Bornholm's supply port and Denmark easternmost industrial port. The harbour is centrally located in the Baltic Sea. Principal exports of the port are clay, granite, grain and bricks. Imports include oil, coal, iron and timber.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Ronne is situated on the W coast of the Island of Bornholm, located off the SE coast of Denmark.

LOA 196.35m, beam 30.5m, draught 8.4m, 13,500DWT

Approx 1,400,000t of cargo and 700 vessels handled annually.

A vessel may obtain anchorage anywhere off the W coast of Bornholm between Hasle (55°11'N 014°48'E) and Hammeren, 6nm N, in depths of 20-30m, with offshore winds. Should the wind shift to the W a vessel must proceed to sea. Vessels anchoring further S on this coast are liable to lose their anchors on account of the uneven rocky bottom.

The port is approached from the SW on the alignment 064.5° of leading lights and entered between breakwaters through a channel dredged to a depth of 9.0m. Caution: Care should be taken to remain within the dredged channel, to avoid Trindelen, a rocky shoal patch on the N side of the channel close W of the inner breakwater.

A lifesaving station, equipped with line throwing apparatus, mobile equipment and fast rescue craft, is located at Ronne.

When leaving the port pilotage should be requested at least 4 hours prior to departure, with confirmation or corrections at least l hour before ETD. Leading lights in line bearing approx 065° lead from the approach buoy through the breakwaters into the harbour. Rear leading light (red mast, 12m in height, Iso 4s), front leading light (framework tower, 14m in height, Iso 2s). The lights are exhibited throughout 24 hours.

None. In exceptional circumstances W winds may lower the water level by up to 1.0m and winds from E or N may raise it by up to 1.2m.

Two tugs available; 1 x 200hp, 1 x 1,000hp. More powerful tugs can be ordered with prior notice.

Prevailing winds: Between SW and NW'ly. The port may be dangerous to approach in strong W winds.

Lyngby Radio (the only coast radio station in Denmark) is recommended for passing messages. The station works throughout 24 hours. Inmarsat communication is possible. Commercial radio: Ronne Radio, MF and VHF. VHF: Port Radio: Ch 16, 12, 13. Vessels should contact the harbour 1 hour and then 15 min prior to arrival/departure. Customs allowances: One bottle of spirits and 200 cigarettes per person are allowed. If quantities in excess of the allowance are found the penalty is a fine. The size of the fine depends on the amounts in excess of allowances. Clearance is handled by the agent but Customs Officers may board at any time to check the validity of the documents handed to the agent. Immigration: There are no restrictions for crew. Passengers of nationalities which require a visa are only allowed transit in Denmark for 36 hours.

Should be advised 24 hours prior to arrival. Message should include ETA, special requirements (pilot, tug, boatmen, freshwater), draught, length and GT.

All vessels must keep free passage across their decks to vessels moored alongside. Vessels must not exceed a speed of 3kts in the harbour.

Pratique is not required for Danish ports. Agent may request a Maritime Declaration of Health from the Master. Ship Sanitation Control Certificates and Exemption Certificates can be renewed in large ports.
