Ringkobing (DKRKG)

The harbour consists of 3 basins, Ny Havn, Gamle Havn and Lystbadehavn. The port offers water sports activities such as swimming, wind-surfing , kite surfing and sailing. Sufficiently deep in the central area for navigation with various restaurants and fish shop.

The port of Ringkobing is located at the entrance to Ringkobing Fjord at Hvide Sande, on the W coast of Denmark.

Draught 2.7m.

The port is approached by an entrance channel, 0.6nm in length, width 20m with a depth of 2.7m, marked on both sides by spar buoys.

Brackish.

Pilotage is advisable, available from Hvide Sande.

A lock gives access from the SE corner of Ostre Bassin into Ringkobing Fjord, length 34m, width 9.4m, the depth over the sill is 4.0m below mean sea level. Vessels longer than 33.5m can be canalled through the locks at certain states of the tide. A road bridge with a single lifting span crosses the lock just clear of the NW gate.

Nil. The water level is raised in S winds, and lowered in N winds up to 0.5m.

Lyngby Radio (the only coast radio station in Denmark) is recommended for passing messages. The station works throughout 24 hours. Inmarsat communication is possible. VHF: Ch 16.

Customs allowances: One bottle of spirits and 200 cigarettes per person are allowed. If quantities in excess of the allowance are found the penalty is a fine. The size of the fine depends on the amounts in excess of allowances. Clearance is handled by the agent but Customs Officers may board at any time to check the validity of the documents handed to the agent. Immigration: There are no restrictions for crew. Passengers of nationalities which require a visa are only allowed transit in Denmark for 36 hours.

There is no demand for an ETA by Port Authorities. ETA messages should be passed to the ship's agent who will relay it to relevant parties (port, stevedores, work gangs, etc). Pilot requires ETA at boarding point 24, 12 and 4 hours prior to arrival.

Pratique is not required for Danish ports. Agent may request a Maritime Declaration of Health from the Master. Ship Sanitation Control and Exemption Certificates can be renewed in large ports.
