Kolby Kaas (DKKOK)

A small private harbour owned by Atieselskabet Havnen. The port consists of two small basins and protected by 2 breakwaters.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Kolby Kaas is situated on the W side of South Samso.

Max draught 4.5m, LOA 90m.

Anchorage can be obtained on N and S of the harbour.

Directions for entering harbour: Leading lights: Front Lights (red and green triangles on twin grey structures, point up, 5.0m in height) (55°47.8'N 010°31.9'E), at ferry berth on central mole. Rear light (white triangle, point down) (47m farther SE). The alignment (130°) of the Rear Light seen midway between the twin front lights, shown when ferries are expected, leads SE through the harbour entrance, marked by lights (red metal post, and green metal post, each 2.0m in height) on the N and S moles respectively, to the ferry berth, which is marked by a light in fog or poor visibility when ferries are expected. The entrance to the harbour has a depth of 5.2m.

Tidal range is approximately 0.6m. Abnormal water levels: Winds between W and NW can raise water level by up to 0.8m; winds between SE and S can lower it by the same amount.
