Ebeltoft (DKEBT)

Ebeltoft Vig consists of a ferry harbour on the E side of the bay and the fishing port of Ebeltoft Havn which is situated 2.5nm farther N.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Ebeltoft is located on the E coast of Jutland, approx 16nm W of Aarhus.

Vessels can anchor anywhere in Ebeltoft Vig in good holding ground, sand and clay. Vessels waiting to enter Ebeltoft Havn can anchor N of Pilken, close to the harbour entrance. Small vessels can anchor temporarily on Oreflak.

There are 4 approach routes leading into Ebeltoft: ..... 1. E of Skadegrund From a position approx 5nm SSW of Gasehage, 56°08'N 010°42'E, the track leads N in the white sector, (357°-358.5°) of Ebeltoft Vig Light, close to the shore at the head of the bay, passing W of a shoal then E of Skadegrund, W of Oreflak, then W of Sandhagen, marked by buoys at the W and NW extremity of the coastal bank off Ahl Hage. 2. W of Skadegrund From a position approx 6nm SW of Gasehage, the track leads N in the white sector, (008°-008.5°) of Ebeltoft Vig Light, 56°14'N 010°36'E, passing, E of a shoal then W of Skadegrund, then E of the coastal bank E of Helegenaes, then E of an isolated shoal, then W of Sandhagen. 3. SW of Oreflak From a position approx 5nm SSE of Gasehage, the track leads NW for approx 6nm passing, NE of a shoal then SW of Oreflippen, a rocky shoal, marked by a buoy then SW of Oreflak, an extensive shoal, then as required for the route E of Skadegrund. 4. N of Oreflak From a position approx 2.25nm E of Gasehage, the track leads W in the white sector (088°-091°) of Hjelm Light astern, (56°08'N 010°48'E), passing S of Klokkegrund then N of Oreflak and the lightbuoy (N cardinal ) marking its NE point, and S of the coastal bank between Gasehage and Hasnenore.

Lyngby Radio (the only coast radio station in Denmark) is recommended for passing messages. The station works throughout 24 hours. Inmarsat communication is possible. VHF: Ch 16 and 12.

Customs allowances: One bottle of spirits and 200 cigarettes per person are allowed. If quantities in excess of the allowance are found the penalty is a fine. The size of the fine depends on the amounts in excess of allowances. Clearance is handled by the agent but Customs officers may board at any time to check the validity of the documents handed to the agent. Immigration: There are no restrictions for crew. Passengers of nationalities which require a visa are only allowed transit in Denmark for 36 hours.

There is no demand for an ETA by Port Authorities. ETA messages should be passed to the ship's agent who will relay it to relevant parties (port, stevedores, work gangs, etc). Pilot requires ETA at boarding point 24, 12 and 4 hours prior to arrival.

Pratique is not required for Danish ports. Agent may request a Maritime Declaration of Health from the Master. Ship Sanitation Control Certificates and Exemption Certificates can be renewed in large ports.
