📋 Port Overview
✓ ISPS✗ ECA
There are two distinct separate port areas: Terminal 2 (T2 Onshore) is an inner harbour which has been dug out of the existing coastline into a 6.5m long dock area, and a 300m wide approach channel with a depth of 14.5m. With a wharf line of over 13 km, T2 will handle project cargo, coal, bauxite, vehicles, liquid and solid bulk and oil. Two large breakwaters have been built which protect the inland harbour entrance. The port will have a total quay line of over 13km and be able to handle dry bulk, liquid bulk, steel products, coal, pig iron, slag, granite, general cargo and vehicles. The new port area will cover 90kmІ and will also include steel mills, power plants and iron ore hydrocyclone and pelletising plants. T2 Onshore will have an OSX shipbuilding yard, for the construction and repair of FPSO's, platforms and modules for offshore exploration. Other facilities to include an oil processing plant, cement and auto factories. Many international companies have already started up operations in the area. Edison Chouest have set up the largest offshore supply base in the world at Acu.Terminal 1 (T1 Offshore) consists of a 3,600m long access pier extending from the shoreline, with two finger piers at the end. Eventual total of nine berths for VLCC's and Chinamax vessels. Five for oil and four for iron ore.
