The port handles all non-containerised cargo, break bulk, Ro-Ro, aggregates, LPG and gasoline.

Barcadera harbour is located 5km SE of Oranjestad on the island of Aruba.

Max LOA 245m, draught 9.75m. .

Available, approx 0.15nm outside the barrier reef, in depths of 50m, with the group of chimneys (12°28.6'N 069°58.5'W) bearing 346°.

The width at the entrance to the harbour is 143.3m, depth 10.97m. From a position W of the harbour entrance, leading lights standing on the quay and in a line bearing 093° lead through the middle of the entrance channel: Front lights (12°29.0'N 069°59.8'W); Rear light 107m from the front light. This alignment keeps: N of a lightbuoy (special) marking the edge of the bank extending W from the SE entrance point (0.4nm W), and S of a light beacon standing ESE of the NW entrance point, then; N of No 4 Light Beacon (0.35nm W) standing on the edge of the reef inside the SE entrance, then S of No 5 Light Beacon standing (0.3nm WNW) marking the edge of the coastal bank. The track then leads SE into the turning basin of the berth. The S and W limits of the turning basin is marked by No 1, No 2 and No 3 Light Beacons.

The following are positioned relative to the quay: Group of prominent chimneys on the W side of Spaans Lagoen, a small inlet, 1nm ESE. Aero Light (12°30.4'N 070°00.3'W) exhibited from Reina Beatrix International Airport.

Range 0.4m. Current: In the open sea, the current is W going with an approx rate of 1 to 2kts. This W set can be stronger, but a rate of 3kts rarely occurs. Occasionally there is no current, or instead an E set, which does not exceed 2kts. At times, when the W set is strong and close to the barrier reef, an E set of approx 0.5kt may occur inside the reef. The effect of this set will rarely be noticed as the influence of the wind is mostly in the opposite direction and stronger.
