Ho-Ping (TWHOP)

The port imports coal, serving as a supply base for the Ho-Ping Power Station and exports sand and gravel for the construction industry.

Ho-Ping is situated on the E coast of Chinese Taipei approximately 20nm N of Hualien and opens to the Philippine Sea in the Pacific Ocean.

LOA 229.5m, beam 36.92m, draught 16.0m, 92,025DWT.

Approx 8,600,000t of cargo and 700 vessels handled annually.

There is no anchorage.

Ho-Ping is approached from ENE through an entrance channel approx 200m wide, depth 14.5m LLW.
