Yalova (TRYAL)

Yalova is a private port complex that includes Aksa Kimya which is a liquid chemical terminal. For Akcansa Terminal see separate entry.

The port is currently open for commercial operations. Yalova lies opposite Darica, on the S side of the mouth of the Gulf of Izmit, in the Sea of Marmara.

Aksa Kimya: Max LOA 170m, beam 25m and 25,000SDWT.

Approx 130 vessels and 336,425t of cargo handled annually.

Water depth in approaches is 8.5m.

Elyaf Factory Pier: Vessel moors with two anchors, stern to the 6.5m wide jetty head, which is at the end of a 405m pier. Stern ropes to the jetty and two buoys, 30m off each side of the jetty head.

Mooring is carried out during daylight only, departure at any time. Aksa Berth has a min UKC of 1.3m.

Call Turk Radio on MF & HF bands, (ship-to-shore communication is by VHF-DSC channels 16, 70 near to Turkey). Forecasts and other meteorological events are broadcast in Turkish on VHF Ch 16 and 67 and updated every three hours. (Broadcast in English on VHF if required). VHF: Decas Pilot: Ch 16, 12.

Vessels calling at Turkish ports have to obtain Customs clearance. Nobody can join or leave the ship before inspection is completed. Vessels may be cleared at anchorage or alongside and sometimes in the straits of Dardanelles and Bosphorus. The clearance party consists of 1 Sanitary Officer, 1 or more Immigration Police, 1 or more Customs Officer. Customs allowance: Ten packets of cigarettes and one bottle of spirits per crew member per week.

ETA should be sent 48, 24 and 12 hours prior to arrival and should include request for pilot and tugs.

All foreign ships are required to fly Turkish flag during their stay in Turkish ports or anchorages and also when passing through the Turkish straits (Dardanelles and Bosphorus).

Berthing daylight hours only, but vessels may unberth at any time.

Vessels calling at Turkish ports have to obtain free pratique.

NOR will be received by Loading Master or receivers of cargoes. It should be tendered at the time of pilot boarding, anchoring or arrival points.
