Trelleborg (SETRG)

Trelleborg Port is one of Scandinavia's largest Ro-Ro and ferry hubs, handling general cargo for import and export. Located on the southern side, it features an oil dock with nearby storage tanks. The port offers efficient connections to Travemьnde, Rostock, Sassnitz, Swinoujscie, and Klaipeda, ensuring strong trade and transport links.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Trelleborg is situated on the extreme S tip of Sweden.

Approx 11,300,000 of cargo, 6,500 vessels, 1,830,000 passengers handled annually.

Anchorage is available W of the entrance channel, between the Trelleborg Redd Lightbuoy and Lightbuoy No 1, depth 7.0-12.0m, with a good anchoring bottom consisting of clay and sand.

Trelleborg is approached from SSW through a dredged channel, width 150m, depth 9.5m and the turning basin has a depth of 9.0m. It is marked on either side by lightbuoys fitted with radar reflectors and by spar buoys. When ice threatens the lightbuoys are replaced by unlit buoys or spar buoys with radar reflectors. The W and E limits of the channel are also defined by 2 sets of leading lights, each pair in line bearing 014°. The W pair are exhibited from white triangular daymarks on red and white framework towers, the front situated on the pierhead on the W side of the inner entrance, and the rear 500m NNE. The E pair are exhibited from white triangular daymarks, the front on a white metal tower with a black band on the head of the E Pier, and the rear on a red and white framework tower, 540m NNE both are floodlit. Lights are exhibited on the breakwater heads on each side of the outer entrance; white boards at the breakwater heads are floodlit. Trelleborg Light is exhibited from a floodlit black tower with a white stripe and white lantern, 15m in height, on a grey base on the E side of the channel 0.5nm S of the entrance to the harbour. It is fitted with a Racon. The Inner harbour has a depth of 7.4m to 8.0m.

Trelleborg is a Pilot Station. Pilots, who should be requested initially via Malmo, are available between 0500-2100hrs. They meet vessels near Trelleborgs Redd Lightbuoy (55°20'N 013° 09'E). Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels in category 1, for those in category 2 over 1,200GT and for all other vessels over 1,600GT. Category 1: Vessels carrying or with uncleaned tanks which last carried: ..... 1. Liquefied gas 2. Liquid chemicals defined in MARPOL '73 Supplement 2 Annex 2 as category A, B or (if vessel does not have a double skin hull under all cargo tanks) C. 3. Liquid chemicals which, according to IMO Bulk Chemicals Code should be carried in Type 1 or 2 vessels. Category 2: All other chemical tankers which are laden or have uncleaned tanks and all laden oil tankers. Category 3: All other vessels.

Trelleborg VTS is available throughout 24 hours. Reports should be made concerning arrivals and departures, stating the name of the vessel. Vessels Inbound: ..... 1. Vessel should, by first announcement on VHF Ch 74, give 5 minutes notice before arrival at Trelleborg Redd Lightbuoy (55°20.0'N 013°08.3'E). 2. Vessels should give a second announcement on VHF Ch 74 on arrival at Trelleborg Redd Lightbuoy. Departing vessels must await inbound traffic, unless other agreements are reached between vessels. Vessels Outbound: ..... 1. Vessels should announce on VHF Ch 74 that they are ready for departure. 2. When vessels have announced their departure, inbound traffic must await outbound traffic, unless other agreements are reached between vessels. 3. Vessels ready for departure, with limited radar coverage due to other vessels in the harbour area, can receive information from the VTS Centre concerning other vessel movements.
