Landskrona (SELAA)

The port located close to the Danish capital. The port handles exports and imports for the region.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Landskrona is a W coast Swedish port situated in The Sound at the S end of the Kattegat, between Helisingborg and Malmo.

(Day) LOA 190m, draught 10.0m, beam 30m, DWT 30000. (Night) LOA 130m, draught 7.0m. The maximum length for an ammonia vessel is 110m. Exceptions can be made for vessels with good manoeuvring ability.

Vessels up to draught 10.0m can safely anchor N of Staffansbank (55°53'N 012° 46'E) in depths of 11.0m. Prohibited anchorage: ..... Vessels must not anchor in the approach channel unless in an emergency Within 50m either side of the submarine cables between Skeppsbrokajen and Graen Within 50m of the submerged pipeline, which projects 2.5nm W from the harbour (marked by a buoy at it's seaward end).

Approaches to Landskrona: Extensive shoals lie off the entrance to Landskrona which is approached on a SE course from off the E side of the Ven. The N channel, which leads between these shoals and the coastal bank N of the harbour, has been widened and deepened to 11m and is well lighted and buoyed. The harbour can also be approached from the S through a minor channel suitable for small vessels with local knowledge. Directions: The principal approach to the N channel is made from E of Ven passing N of Staffansbank, where a vessel would be advised to embark a pilot as there are strong currents outside the shoals. The track leads SE for about 1.25nm, on the alignment 125° of leading lights, from a position about 0.3nm N of Staffans Bank (55°53.0'N 012°46.0'E), passing (positions from front light): SW of a lightbuoy (port hand) (1.5nm NW), marking the W extremity of the coastal bank. Then SW of Grasgrund (1.2nm NW), marked by a buoy (W cardinal), and NE of a 5.2m shoal (1.2nm WNW), at the N extremity of Pilhaken, the N part of Vasterflacket, marked by Pilhaken Lightbuoy (N cardinal). From a position close E of Pilhaken Lightbuoy, the track leads SSE in the white sector (165°-168°) of Grasrannan Light through the channel, marked by buoys (lateral) for about 0.6nm, passing (positions from the light): ENE of Pilhaken (0.8nm NNW) and WSW of Norra Haken (0.8nm N), marked by Norra Haken Lightbuoy (port hand) at its SW extremity. From a position about 0.4nm NNW of Grasrannan Light, the track leads E for about 0.9nm through the channel to the harbour entrance. Two area light pairs in line 094° mark the S and N limits respectively of the dredged channel to the harbour, also marked by buoys and lightbuoys (lateral).

Pilots, who are available from Helsingborg, meet vessels outside the shoals N of Staffansbank. The pilot lookout station, which is equipped with radio telephone and radar, maintains watch between 0500-2100hrs. Notify pilots 24 and 5 hours prior to arrival.

Leading lights: Front light (white triangle, point up, orange border, on white hut, red top, on dolphin) (55°52.1'N 012°48.9'E). Rear light (white triangle, point down, red border, height 4m, on Graen) (380m farther SE). Grasrannan Light (white lantern, stone base) (55°51.7'N 012°48.0'E). Area lights: Front Lights (white pedestal, green top, on dolphin and common front light, as above) (55°52.1'N 012°49.1'E). Rear lights (red and green diamonds, on mast and building respectively) (450m to 500m farther E).

Speed is restricted to a maximum of 10kts in the entrance channel, and to 5kts in the harbour for vessels with a draught greater than 2.5m. Controlling depth in the main channel is 11.0m and 2.5m in Grasrannan.

Strong currents up to 3.0 to 4.0kts often occur in the harbour entrance.

Vessel arriving have precedence over vessels departing. Vessels over 50GT and vessels towing with a tow length of more than 50m in length must report arrival 2.0nm before entry and, at least, 5 minutes before departure on VHF Ch 16.

There are tugs available.
