Lomonosov (RULOM)

Lomonosov has been opened up for commercial trade after being under the control of and used by the Navy. Its focus is on container, refrigeration and metal transhipment.

Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.

Lomonosov is located on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland approx 40nm W of St Petersburg.

LOA 160m, beam 30m, most moorings allow 4.5-6.5m draught but the port can handle up to 7.5m draught.

Prohibited anchorages: The telegraph cable between Lomonosov and Kronshtadt is marked by buoys (red and blue spar; red and blue flags). Close E and W of this are other prohibited anchorages, extending between Kronshtadt and Lomonosov.

The main approach to Lomonosov, with a depth of 6.2m is entered 2.25nm N of the harbour approx 1.25nm SE of Fort Kronshlot. Lomonosov Leading Lights for this channel are exhibited on the E mole, from concrete columns carrying white trapezium daymarks with black stripes, 28m and 12m in height, and 400m apart. In line they bear 186°.

A light is exhibited at the head of the W mole.
