San Fernando (PHSFE)

San Fernando is a port of entry. The principal imports are oil products, cement, fertilisers and exports are ore concentrates, timber and gold. The port offers partial protection to vessels at anchor in depths of up to 20.1m.

San Fernando, also called Poro Point, is located on the E shore of the Lingayen Gulf, on the W coast of Luzon Island and approx 270km N of Manila.

Vessels enter the harbour through a channel, marked by 2 buoys and 2 range lights 144.5°, (FFl RG 3s).

Port of San Fernando embraces all the waters bounded along the coast by a line drawn from 16°37.6'N 120°16.8'E to 16°39'N 120°18.5'E.

Care should be taken in the approaches due to the formation of reefs and many wrecks.

There is 1 tug owned by Philex Mining Corp, with a capacity of 1,000hp, fitted with a Kort nozzle, which can be used for assisting docking and undocking and providing a launch service.

The vessel will be boarded at Quarantine anchorage by Customs and Immigration personnel for clearance.

Vessel's information sheet containing: GT, draught, LOA, breadth, consignee, shipper, type of cargo, request for cargo handling permit and berthing permit.

Notice of ETA should be given 48 hours prior to arrival, ship's agent files request for berth at Port Management Office (PMO).

Flag of vessel is hoisted together with Philippine flag to identify its nationality.

Immediately after the vessel anchors at the Quarantine anchorage, Quarantine Officers board and clear the vessel.
