Rekefjord (NOREK)

The port mainly handles aggregates, limestone and asphalt.

Rekefjord is situated on the SW coast of Norway, 22nm NW of Farsund.

Draught 5.6m

Small vessels can obtain good anchorage anywher in Rekefjord as far as Knapperholmen. Larger vessels anchor in the wider part of the fjord 0.4nm N of Lille Prestskjaer Light, in depths up to 28.0m, with the stern moored to the shore.

Pilotage is arranged through Horten Pilot Booking Centre, Oslofjorden and is available throughout 24 hours. The pilot boards 1.5nm SSW of Lille Prestskjaer Light (58°19.4'N 006°15.3'E).

Vertical Clearances: An overhead power cable, with a vertical clearance of 40m, spans the fjord, 0.7nm within the entrance. Three other overhead cables, with a least vertical clearance of 13m, span the channel between Knapperholmen (58° 20.2'N 006°15.6'E) and the mainland to the E and the head of the fjord. Submarine cables and pipelines: Two submarine cables are laid across the fjord from Alterodden (58°19.6'N 006°15.6), the N-most cable then extends along the W shore to Tverrdalen, 0.25nm N. Submarine pipelines are laid along the shores of the N part of Rekefjord.

Ice: The harbour is ice free, although ice may lie for short periods inside Lammenes (58°20.0'N 006°15.4'E).
