Onne (NGONN)

Onne was established as a free port zone (FPZ) to serve as the centre point for the oil and gas industry in West Africa. The Onne FPZ has modern port infrastructure and super structure that can accommodate ocean-going vessels. Also located at the Onne port complex are the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT) and the Federal Lighter Terminal (FLT). The terminal handles bulk cargo and containers as well as raw and finished products to and from the steel, fertiliser and coal industries in the area.

Onne is situated on the Bonny River estuary, approx 30km S of Port Harcourt.

Approx. 26,000,000t of cargo, 266,000TEU and 700 vessels handled annually.

The approach channel is 9.2m in depth. It is entered through Nafcon Channel between "LB3" and "LB5" Buoys.
