Export tankers are required to fly Nigerian flag during daylight hours while at the terminal.
General notices & regulations
Repairs or other work, which may prevent the rapid departure of the tankers, should not be undertaken while the tanker is moored. The terminal operates throughout 24 hours, 7 days a week. Ships are loaded at any hour, weather and other circumstances permitting and at full discretion of OIM Master and Mooring Master. Export tankers are however only moored during daylight hours. Where possible, unmooring shall also take place during daylight hours. In order to assure all mooring activities occur during daylight hours the mooring operation will not commence unless at least 3 hours of daylight remain. Inert Gas System: All export tankers must be fitted with an inert gas system and confirm that all tanks have an oxygen content of less than 5% by volume prior to loading.
Notices of readiness
The Mooring Master will act on behalf of NAE to acknowledge receipt of the vessel's Notice of Readiness, which should be tendered at the time of arrival at the terminal (provided the proper notification of arrival procedure has been followed). Arrival time will be considered as the time the vessel reaches a position 3nm NE of ABO FPSO to stand by, or at the time of Mooring Master boarding (if a direct approach is approved).
