Matsusaka (JPMSA)

A single basin, lined with quays and protected by breakwaters. This port handles breakbulk and liquid cargoes.

Tsumatsusaka (Matsusaka) is situated on the E coast of Ise Bay in Mie prefecture.

Outer anchorage can be obtained in depths from 7.0-12.0m, mud, good holding ground.

Tsumatsusaka (Matsusaka) is entered between 2 breakwaters. The approach channel, which is marked by lightbuoys, has a least depth of 6.4m, dredged to 7.5m in the SE part of the basin.

Compulsory for vessels over 10,000GT, harbour pilots board within an area 1nm radius centred on a position 045° 1.5nm from E Breakwater Light. Pilots available during daytime only..

Seaward limit is a circle, approx 1nm radius centred on the E Breakwater Head (34°36.9'N 136°33.6'E). Draught limitation in the channel is 7.5m.

Leading lights, privately maintained, are exhibited from metal posts (white triangular topmarks) standing at the head of the harbour. In line bearing 204.75°, they lead through the approach channel and the harbour entrance. A light tower stands at the head of the E breakwater. Caution: There are fixed fishing nets, within 1nm seaward of the harbour entrance and close to the approach channel; some of these nets are marked by white lights. A fish haven lies 3nm E of the harbour entrance.

Matsusaka is a closed port so permission to enter the port should be requested from Maritime Transport Bureau and Customs House at an open port in Japan.
