Fukui (JPFKJ)

Customs and Immigration clearance must be obtained from Fukui or Tsuruga port. There are aluminium and power utilities, as well as general cargo berths.

Fukui is situated on the Sea of Japan in Fukui prefecture.

Harbour: LOA 170.0m, beam 17.20m, 29,078DWT Offshore: LOA 246.8m, 120,015DWT

Approx 2,000,000t of cargo and 2,000 vessels are handled annually.

Open anchorage is available off Fukui Ko. Larger vessels may anchor in 12m - 17m, sand, approxiamtely 0.8nm WNW of the mouth of Kuzuryu Kawa. Smaller vessels may anchor in depths of about 8m, 1.5nm NNW of the head of Mikuni Ko Breakwater (36°13.07'N 136°07.64'E). Vessels should avoid the samll bay close N of Mikuni Ko Breakwater as the bottom is sand and rock, bad holding ground.

Draught limit in the channel is 9.0m.

Admiralty Pilot NP41, NP286(6)

Not compulsory. For vessels requiring pilotage, the pilot will board at the anchorage.

The port limits extend 0.65nm WSW from a position on the shore 0.6nm N of the mouth of Kuzuryu Kawa, thence 3.5 miles SW, thence 1.75 miles S, thence SE to the shore.

There are no restrictions on sailing outside the perimeter of the breakwater. However, sailing within the perimeter is not permitted after sunset.

Range max 0.6m, min -0.17m.

There is 1 x 1,900hp tug available.
