Novshehr is an alternative name for Bandar Noshahr.

Bandar Noshahr is situated on the S coast of the Caspian Sea, 110km N of Tehran and 140km from Sari, the capital of Mazandaran Province.

LOA 141.4m, beam 16.6m, draught 4.8m.

Approx 680,000t of cargo, 140TEU and 290 vessels handled annually.

There is a buoy in the access channel, in position 36°40.4'N 051°31.1'E, the length and the width of the channel are 0.7nm and 200m respectively. There are 2 buoys, (green and red) located in the port basin, which show the deepwater area.

Coastguard is available and can be contacted on VHF Ch 16.

Compulsory. The pilots board at the anchorage, the languages used are English, Russian and Turkish.

Foreign vessels entering Iranian Marine Territory and during their stay at Iranian ports must always raise the Iranian flag in the forepart of the vessel.

One copy of General Notices and Regulations is submitted to all arriving vessels.

Free pratique should be applied for via VHF Ch 16 before vessel's arrival. All crew should have a Vaccination Book. Ship Sanitation Control Certificate (SSCC) and Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (SSCEC) will be issued and renewed by the Port and Shipping Organisation.

NOR should be tendered to port authority and other concerned parties, in accordance with owner's instructions or Charter Party, on arrival of vessel.
