Dunmore East (IEDNM)

It is a major fishing port with a depth of 2.6m in the entrance of the harbour, crowded during the Autumn Herring and Spring Fishing seasons. The port is the pilot station for Waterford Harbour and it is closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen.

Dunmore East is situated on the W shore of the entrance to Waterford Harbour.

The navigable width in the entrance is 75m with a depth of 2.6m.

Landmark: East Pierhead light (white lantern on grey granite tower, 16m in height) stands at the head of the main part of East Pier.

VHF: Waterford Harbour Commissioners operate the pilot station for Waterford Estuary. Call on Ch 16, change over to Ch 14 for working. Its location is at the entrance to Waterford Harbour.
