Tanjung Uban (IDTUB)

The port is currently closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. It is an anchorage port where forest products are handed; a sawmill and log pond front the village.

Tropical.

Tubang is located on Taliabu Island in North Maluku Province.

The port has limited facilities but can handle a vessel of up to 30,000DWT.

Anchorage which is also the loading point, may be obtained in the inlet and NW of the sawmill in a depth of 18.0m, mud.

On rounding Tanjung Penu (01°41.0'S 125°07.0'E) when approaching from E, or passing N of Pulau Kabihu (01°40.0'S 125°00.0'E) if approaching from W, the track to the pilot boarding position leads S into the bay, passing between the islets and shoals fronting the E side of the bay and an unmarked shoal patch, with a least depth of 2.0m, lying in the middle of the bay 3.5nm WSW of Tanjung Penu.

Pilotage is available for anchorage. Pilot boards in the open water of the bay, approx 2nm from the inlet anchorage berth.

Entry is recommended during daylight hours and local knowledge is essential.
