Rengat (IDRGT)

The port is currently closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. The port is a commercial port, open to international trade. Rengat is mostly used by local vessels along the Indragiri River.

Rengat is located on the Indragiri River in Riau Province, approx 160km from the sea.

The anchorage area is located at 00°28.3'S 102°41.52'E.

The channel leading to the port is approx 80nm in length, varying in width from 100-150m and depth from 5.0-7.0m. The least depth within the port basin is 1.0m, the riverbed is sand.

Pilotage is not compulsory.

Current: Max velocity of the current in the channel can reach 3.5kts. Tides: The MHWS is 3.0m and MLWN is 1.7m. LWS 3.0m below MSL.

Rainfall: Regular rainfall occurs each month. The wet season starts in Oct until Apr with the heaviest rainfall occurring during Nov-Dec and Mar-Apr. June is usually the driest month of the year. Visibility: The visibility range is from 5-20km. However, during dry weather the range can be as low as 1km. Early morning and at night time fog is a regular occurrence in the mouth of the river.

Radio: Coastal Radio station: Class IV/B. It is recommended to use Jakarta Radio for passing messages at long range, callsign "PKX". Working hours are 0000-0400hrs UTC on 8542kHz and 0000-1200hrs UTC on 8752kHz. Inmarsat communication is possible.

Immigration: All crew members must have a valid travel document.

Sailing Declaration The agent will deliver the special forms onboard the vessel when alongside.

Should be advised to agent at 10, 3, 2 and 1 day prior to arrival. In addition to date and time of arrival the Master should also advise the estimated draught on arrival.

Free pratique is granted on arrival. Ship Sanitation Control Certificate (SSCC) and Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (SSCEC) can be renewed at the major ports.
