Gilimanuk (IDGIL)

The port is currently closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. The port comprises of a ferry boat terminal for the use of the state railways which links overland communication from Bali to Java at Ketapang. The terminal has 5 berths for both passenger and vehicle ferries.

Gilimanuk is located 1.5nm NNW of Cekek, on the S side of the entrance to Gilimanuk Bay.

Draught 3.2m.

Submarine cables exist in an area in which anchoring is prohibited. The SE limit of the area is marked by a light beacon (special) (08°10'S 114°26'E) and the NW limit is marked by a lightbuoy (special).

The entrance to the bay is very narrow, with a depth of 3.0m in the fairway. Two islets stand on an extensive mud and sand flat near the middle of the bay.

A light is situated on the control tower near the root of the ferry pier; a water tower is situated 1nm further S. The approach to the pier is buoyed.

Radio: It is recommended to use Jakarta Radio for passing messages at long range, callsign "PKX". Working hours are 0001-0400hrs UTC on 8542kHz and 0001-1200hrs UTC on 8752kHz. Inmarsat communication is possible.

Immigration: All crew members must have a valid travel document.

Sailing Declaration The agent will deliver the special forms onboard the vessel when alongside.

Should be advised to agent at 10, 3, 2 and 1 day prior to arrival. In addition to date and time of arrival the Master should also advise the estimated draught on arrival.

Free pratique is granted on arrival. Ship Sanitation Control Certificate (SSCC) and Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (SSCEC) can be renewed at the major ports.
