Maslenica (HRMAS)

The port is used for the export of bauxite.

Maslenica is located at the southern end of the Velebitski Kanal in the northern Adriatic, approx 10km NE of Zadar.

Draught 8.5m.

The recommended berth for vessels waiting to secure to the ore terminal or enter Novsko Zdrilo from the S is approx 0.3nm SE of Rt Zdrijac, good holding. Anchorage position for Port Maslenica in Novigrad is 044°12'N 015°33'E.

The channel depth is 25.0m with a heavy stream, of up to 4kts.

Compulsory from the entrance of Novska Zdrilo for vessels in excess of 500GT. Pilots are available on request from the Harbour Master at Zadar, at least 24 hours notice is required. Pilots are available by day only and embark and disembark off the N entrance or in Uvala Maslenica for the outward passage. Pilot position for port Maslenica before Novsko Zdrilo is 44°15'N 015°33'E.

Approach to Maslenica is under two bridges, the New A1 road bridge and the rebuilt Old D8 road bridge, 57m above sea level with a maximum airdraught of 75m.

Range 0.3m.

Compulsory. Tugs available from 150hp.

Prevailing winds: Variable. However, strong N'ly during winter.

VHF: Ch 16.

Customs allowances: Each crew member is allowed 200 cigarettes and a 1 litre bottle of spirit. Penalty for non compliance is confiscation.

For tankers, ETA is to be sent 72, 48 and 24 hours prior to arrival. All other vessels are to send an ETA 48 and 24 hours prior to arrival. Advanced cargo specification, for vessels carrying dangerous and/or noxious cargo, is to be advised 48 hours prior to arrival.

If a vessel does not have a Croatian flag onboard the pilot will bring the flag onboard with him if it has been ordered in advance.

Free pratique to be requested on arrival only. Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate renewal is possible.

NOR is to be tendered between Mon-Thu 0800-1800hrs, Fri 0800-1400hrs.
