Aspra Spitia Ore Terminal (GRATK)

The port handles hydrated and anhydrous alumina, aluminium, bauxite, coke, AlF3, caustic soda and liquid cargo.

Summer.

The small Aspra Spitia Oil Terminal lies on the N shore of the bay, close to Antikyra. The larger ore terminal lies in the SE of the bay.

LOA 199.99m, beam 36m, draught 11.0m, 66,509DWT.

Anchorage with good shelter can be found approx 0.25nm offshore in the W part of the bay in depths of 24.0-29.0m.

Aspra Spitia is entered between Akra Mounda (38°21'N 022°40'E) and Akra Kefali (1.5nm WNW) on which stands a light. There are 2 lightbuoys, (pillar) and a lighted mooring buoy moored in the bay S of Aspra Spitia. A number of unlit government owned mooring buoys are laid in this area.

Pilotage is compulsory, request for pilotage should be sent to the port authority of Andikiron. The pilot boards 1nm off the coast of Antikyra during daylight only.
