Newport is the capital of the Isle of Wight, it is mainly used by dry bulk and leisure vessels.

Newport is located 1.9km south of the harbour entrance on the W bank of the River Medina.

LOA 100m, beam 15m and 2.9m max draught.

Approx 18,000t cargo and 690 vessels handled annually.

There are 10 buoys leading into the harbour from "Folly Reach" to Newport. The alignment (192.25°) of light-beacons indicates the fairway in the approaches to Newport.

Restrictions only on draught of vessels. Entry for commercial vessels 1 hour before HW. Speed within the harbour is restricted to 4kts.

Seven hours flood from LW to HW; 5 hours ebb HW to LW. Tidal NAABSA.
