Le Havre, one of France's largest ports, has formed an economic alliance with Rouen and Paris called called "HAROPA". Its ideal location and excellent communications links give good access to the European hinterland. Cargo handling facilities offered by the port are numerous and include general, ore and bulk cargo berths, tanker and liquefied gas terminals and specialised container and Ro-Ro berths. In addition, the port is benefited by extensive storage and warehouse facilities and is also a major centre for ship-repair. There are also cross channel ferry and cruise ship passenger facilities.
