Cancale (FRCKY)

The port is closed for commercial operations. Information for the port is retained should the port reopen. The port contains a small tidal harbour at La Houle-sous-Cancale on the S side of the town. The harbour is protected from E by Mole de la Fenetre and from the W by Mole de l'Epi. Cancale has made its reputation as a fishing port and famous for its oysters.

Cancale is situated approx 11km ENE of St Malo.

Vessels secure to a transverse chain, laid on the bottom parallel with the quay and approx 0.05nm from it, with stern to shore; each end of the chain is marked by a buoy.

A light structure (white pylon green top, green hut, 11m in height) stands at the head of Mole de la Fenetre.

Customs allowances: For each crew member 200 cigarettes and 1 bottle of spirits. New Customs forms are to be completed, for vessels sailing between two French ports. Immigration may require Crew List and valid passports to be shown.
