📋 Port Overview

✓ ISPS✗ ECA
Sidi Kerir is the Mediterranean terminal of the Suez-Mediterranean (SUMED) pipeline and consists of five working offshore SBM tanker berths and associated loading facilities and storage tanks. Reportedly, a sixth SBM has been removed and layed. The SUMED pipeline runs from the Ain Sukhna Terminal in the Red Sea to Sidi Keriri Terminal and is remotely controlled from Ain Sukhna. The SUMED system is operated in batch mode, where volumes are received and delivered according to schedules agreed upon with the users. A Dispatch Centre monitors the whole system from the vessel unloading at Ain Sukhna to the vessel loading at Sidi Kerir. The crude oil system for Sidi Kerir Terminal consists of five pumping stations, each of which having three pump units designated to one group of tanks. The loading system is designed to load four crude oil grades on five vessels simultaneously at maximum flow rates. Five turbine meter banks and dual automatic sampler systems are downstream of the pumping stations for measurements and quality control. The larger buoys A1, A2 and A6, are connected to shore by a 48in (1.22m) diameter hose, approximately 8km in length. The smaller buoys, A4 and A5, are connected to shore by a 42in (1,067m) diameter hose, approximately 5km in length.
